Can I ship to Kenya from anywhere in the USA?
Yes. We ship from all 50 states. Wherever you are, post the parcel with USPS, UPS or FedEx (or have an online store deliver it) to our warehouse in Manor, Texas, just outside Austin. You pay that US postage, usually $8–25. From Texas it is $17/kg to your door in Kenya, minimum $25. Small parcels (under 5 kg) are grouped with other customers’ goods and fly once there’s enough weight for the consolidation, so they can take up to a week longer than larger boxes. If you are in the Austin area we can collect it from you instead.
How much does it cost to ship a package from the USA to Kenya?
First, you (or the store) send the package to our receiving warehouse in Manor, Texas, just outside Austin. That US postage is yours to pay, usually $8–25 by USPS, UPS or FedEx. From our warehouse it is $17/kg all-in, duty included, with a $25 minimum: consolidation, air freight to JKIA, Kenyan customs clearance and delivery to your door in Nairobi.
How long does shipping from the USA to Kenya take?

Yes. Have the store deliver to our Texas address and we forward your items to Kenya with your next weekly shipment.
Will I pay customs duty in Kenya?
Not on personal goods. Our $17/kg includes KRA customs clearance, import duty and VAT for clothes, shoes, cosmetics, supplements, books, household items and car parts for personal use. Electronics (phones, laptops, tablets, game consoles and other gadgets) pay KRA duty at cost instead, confirmed before your box flies. Boxes declared over $1,000, or goods for resale, pay KRA duty at cost, and we quote it before your box flies. Always declare the real value.
Can USPS pick up the package from the sender's home?
Yes. When you book, choose a USPS pickup date and the sender's address — or drop the package at any US post office.
Do you deliver outside Nairobi?
Yes. Nairobi deliveries go out the same day as customs clearance, and upcountry deliveries usually arrive the next day. Delivery is free within 25 km of Nairobi CBD. Further out it costs KSh 40 per extra km (free for 50 kg or more, up to 60 km), and upcountry is KSh 1,500. You’ll see the exact amount when you enter the address.
What happens if customs in Kenya holds my shipment for inspection?
Routine KRA clearance is included in our price. But KRA, KEBS and other Kenyan authorities (and US customs before departure) can hold any parcel for a closer look. If the hold is caused by the parcel itself, the extra costs are passed on to you at cost. That covers goods that are poorly packed, unsealed, unlabelled or leaking; items missing from the declaration or declared wrongly; and anything flagged as suspicious. The costs include exam and inspection fees, JKIA storage (demurrage), extra customs fees, re-packing, and returning or destroying refused goods. We send you the receipts, and the charges must be paid before the goods are released. To avoid this, pack well, keep food in its original sealed packaging and declare every item honestly.
